We Are Here. We Will Be Seen.

‘WE ARE HERE. WE WILL BE SEEN.’ is an international activist mail art campaign in support of women and non-binary artists. The aim of the initiative is to challenge museums and galleries to reassess the number of women and non-binary artists they exhibit, represent and collect. We want to draw attention to women and non-binary artists and the fact that in 2023 they remain marginalised, undervalued and underrepresented.

Together with ArtGirlRising, Ellipsis Prints have commissioned artist Valerie Savchits to create a postcard which reads ‘WE ARE HERE. WE WILL BE SEEN.’ We are asking our communities to buy a pack of 10 postcards and send individual postcards to their own local art spaces that they feel need to do better. Our audiences have an extensive international reach and together we can petition a number of galleries to instigate change.

How to challenge art spaces to do better:

Buy one set of ten postcards.

Send them to your own local galleries.

Hold them accountable and challenge them to improve.
