Artist Profile

Alexi Marshall is a UK-based artist whose practice moves between painting, printmaking and textile processes. Her work engages with mythology, ritual and archetypal imagery to examine constructions of femininity, power and transformation. Drawing on symbolic languages—including tarot and devotional iconography—Marshall creates psychologically charged images that feel both intimate and theatrical.

A graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art (2018), Marshall first came to wider attention through Bloomberg New Contemporaries that same year, marking her as a significant emerging voice within her generation. Since then, she has developed a distinctive practice that combines formal precision with emotional intensity.

Her recent solo exhibitions include presentations in London and Rome, alongside an institutional solo exhibition at De La Warr Pavilion. Marshall has also been recognised through national awards and residencies, reflecting the increasing visibility and momentum of her work within the contemporary art landscape.

Across mediums, her practice consistently returns to themes of endurance, embodiment and the cyclical interplay between destruction and renewal.
