Yulia Iosilzon
Artist Profile
Yulia Iosilzon is a London-based painter whose work unfolds through saturated colour, fluid line and mythic symbolism. Born in Moscow and shaped by formative years in Tel Aviv before relocating to the UK, Iosilzon constructs immersive pictorial worlds where folklore, fantasy and personal memory intertwine.
Yulia Iosilzon’s paintings are populated by recurring motifs—mushrooms, vessels, flowers and ambiguous figures that function as talismans within an evolving narrative system. Stories are suggested rather than resolved, echoing the way myths are retold and transformed over time. Hedonism and escapism surface within these scenes and beneath their seductive palettes lies a deeper inquiry into ritual, desire and metamorphosis.
Yulia Iosilzon completed a BA in Fine Art at the Slade School of Fine Art in 2017 and an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art in 2019. Early recognition came through awards including the Bloomberg New Contemporaries Prize and the Audrey Wykeham Prize. Since graduating, she has established an international exhibition profile, with solo presentations at Huxley-Parlour, London; Carvalho Park, New York; De Brock Gallery, Belgium; and Berntson Bhattacharjee, London — situating her within a contemporary dialogue around narrative-driven painting.
Across her practice, Yulia Iosilzon approaches painting as a space of enchantment and ambiguity: a site where myth and materiality coalesce.
