Milly Peck
Artist Profile
Milly Peck is a British artist whose work explores perception, illusion and the mechanics of representation. Working primarily with carved MDF, she uses a handheld router to incise bold, cartoon-like outlines into flat surfaces. This physical, manual process introduces the possibility of slippage and error, a quality Peck actively embraces. The resulting works often resemble enlarged comic panels or stage props: playful, exaggerated and slightly uncanny.
Milly Peck’s installations hover between sculpture and image. Objects appear flattened or theatrically arranged, prompting viewers to question what is authentic and what is fabricated. By foregrounding artifice, Peck invites reconsideration of how we perceive both images and environments.
Milly Peck completed her MA in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2016. Since graduating, she has developed an ambitious exhibition profile, presenting work in solo and group exhibitions across the UK and internationally. Notable presentations include exhibitions at Seventeen Gallery, London; Workplace Gallery, Newcastle; and international project spaces engaging with expanded sculpture and installation. Her work has been recognised for its distinctive visual language and conceptual clarity within contemporary British sculpture.
Across her practice, Milly Peck continues to blur the boundaries between object and illusion, humour and critique.
